We were heading to the excellent Bunroy Campsite at Roybridge but before we got there it was always the intention to do a little something en route, namely this wee Corbett Gairbeinn which fitted the time we had in hand perfectly, two and a half hours with only a five minute break on the summit cairn for a quick look around and some photographs, might as well as the next few days the forecast was poor to say the least. We drove past and over the bridge at Garva Bridge opening the gate at the far side in the process and went as far as a small parking area before the bridge at Melgarve

I stopped off at Dalwhinnie for a coffee as I was early and had a wee wander about and found this near the roadside

Melgarve bothy where we would be passing on the track and heading off to the right of Meall a' Chuit after about 500m of track walking

With the starting height being approx 350m we were soon climbing towards the summit after crossing the scar of the track made by the machinery erecting the Beauly Denny Power Line

Not a bad day given the weather we've had this "summer" - on the medium term to-do list but could be a wee while away though - cheers :)

A good wee fill in on the way or on the way back from somewhere, and it was fairly dry considering.
