Been wanting to do this walk for a while, and it didn't disappoint. Picked up a very rough Strachan at Loch Lomond after a wedding, and he did not stop moaning until he was back in the car and asleep! A strenuous day, but really varied and enjoyable. Not one to break in new boots, as my burning feet will atest to. Weather stayed dry, through the gorge and onto the ridge were tough, but the ridge itself a delight. We took the shortcut back (still can't figure out why that road goes so far up?). Ropeswings and quarry piles provided some amusement on the way round. Would do again on a clear day for better views down Loch Long and Awe :D

Hi Ross - must admit I didn't enjoy this hill much but it was a drab day with very limited views from the top. I'd have liked it even less the morning after a wedding!!!

I second Gordie on that. Road, ferns steep grassy bit, bog, then interesting exposed bits, zero views, long way back.

Aye it's a slog right enough chaps! Another one on the growing 'underestimated' list for me!

Euan was the unlucky one with the hangover - never seen someone so glad to get on to tarmac

Congratulations on getting there  . Now I can see all the views that were clouded when I did it! Did this walk yesterday. It took all my endurance to complete as it rained non stop from 20 minutes into the start til I got back to the car 7.5 hours later. Only consolation was the beer I got at the brewery shop on way to car. Got some weird looks by the folk in the brewery at the drowned yeti that squished in. No idea how I managed to get to the summit in what has to be my worst experience on the munros!
