Our first Munro :)

This was my first munro and must say it feels like a major achievement. You should take the path directly behind the toilet block and at the top, the views are fantastic, with the helicopter and planes flying below you - well worth the effort. We went up the 'tourist' route which was fairly busy (of course it was a Sunday afternoon) and steep in parts and took us about 3 hours. We went back down the alternative route via Ptarmigan which was very steep in parts and not for the fainthearted which took 2 and a half hours. We were fortunate that the weather has not been too wet recently as the alternative route down would have been much more tricky if it had been wet. Looking forward to shopping for some walking poles which are definately a requirement for my 'old' knees

Well done. Ive not done a Munro yet. Ben Lomond on my to do list. Hopefully I will do it before the winter sets in.
