These are two of Scotland's highest mountains, but the high start and good paths make it a relatively easy walk. The day started with bright sunshine but then gradually got cloudier.

I made a short detour from the path to get a look down the Lairig Ghru.

After reaching the main summit I went on to what is arguably the 4th highest hill in Scotland, Ben Macdui North Top.

The weather started getting cloudier. Fortunately it didn't get cloudy enough to make navigation difficult.

The path goes along the edge of some cliffs before heading up to Cairngorm summit.

And then a well made path leads down past the Ptarmigan Restaurant and back to the car park.

Hi Andy,

You've got to love the Cairngorms- you get to bag two massive hills with very little effort and paths all the way- well apart from a bit of boulder hopping before Macdui.

I'd happily go back there time and time again :D :D
