Did this a couple of years ago in the opposite direction and had a great day (the only time I've ever seen a cuckoo) - the views down to Loch Eanaich (from the top of Sgor Gaoith) are brilliant and you were fortunate the cloud had lifted for you to get some great shots.

I'm left asking myself - how did I miss that shelter???

If you had started 30 min later, you would have bumped into us! :D
We did Cairn Toul/Devils Point from Feshie yesterday. Took us 11 hours...

Thanks Gordie, I was really chuffed to get some views down to the loch :D . That shelter is just off the 1029 spot of Badenoch. I cut across Badenoch, skirted Meall Dubhag and around the coire edge. I think from your report you followed the main track over Moine Mhor and then north to CbM?

Sorry I missed you both, would have been good to meet. Looking forward to your report, that sounds like a long day!

Yeh, just got the maps out and can see the difference in our routes now (saves me a trip to Specsavers as I was starting to get worried  ).

Some lovely atmospheric shots there, and the heather looks wonderful. I missed the shelter too! :D

Thanks! It would need a proper emergency to make use that shelter. It looked a bit too cozy for two and well used by the local ptarmigan for their, erm ... business :(
