Mild, cloud on tops am. Via Stob Choire nan Lochan. Neil and I looked at ascending Bidean from here in April but it looked too tricky in deep snow. Steep ascent would have been ok, but wouldn't have liked to descend this way in the white stuff. Good ridge to Sgreamach, changing views throughout walk and back off steeply into the Lost Valley. Peregrine disturbed on the way up. The shattered face of Stob Choire is always worth a visit. Its awesome.
Warning
Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.
