Took the scenic route in to Alltbeithe Hostel from Glen Affric car park, lovely walk but exhausting with overnight pack...note to self - forget all ideas of a trekking holiday it just isn't going to happen :( though we did discuss the advantages of knowing a man with a donkey
The forecast for Saturday was less than impressive but my what a glorious day - a bit hot and humid on the first ascent to the bealach but after that the breeze picked up and the views were to die for. A steep descent down to Coire nan Dearcag but crossing the coire was not as soggy as expected and a straightforward climb up onto the ridge to take us along to the remote summit of Mullach nan Dheiragain. A long walk back retracing our route but with the advantage of looking now at the narrower ridge leading up to Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan. By this time we had met with almost the entire compliment of hostel occupants but these hills are big enough not to feel crowded.
Wonderful, wonderful day and three cracking hills with Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan the star of the show.
:D :D :D
