We decided to do another easy walk today, to get into the swing of things again after my illness, and chose this lovely walk around Tarland. Kamila got very excited as she discovered loads of Chantrelle mushrooms along the edge of the track at the start. She ended up with a kilo of them!!
The first part of the walk was a little boring, walking past Drummy Wood, but as we got to the road, we decided that we'd make our easy walk a little bit more strenuous, so we climbed Knockargerty Hill. The walk up was great, as I could feel my muscles working, although I didn't get why the trail said go through the bog and trees, when the track went to the summit anyway. At the top, we got great views over the Burn O'Vat, Loch Kinord and the south. We spent 20 mins just sitting on the stile, listening to the quietness of everything.
Heading back down, via the track this time, we followed the road to a farm track and then after passing a horse rider and some nosey cows, we got back to the main road and headed to the car.
A very enjoyable walk.
