Dun na Cuaiche kept getting into all the views from Inveraray, so despite a showery forecast it seemed a shame not to climb it after visiting the castle. The way up is straightforward and mostly on tracks, so I won't go into lots of detail, but here are a few photos:

View of Dun na Cuaiche from the castle:

Gentle first section through trees:

The path headed briefly across an open field with lots of sheep before plunging back into the forest and passing a ruined lime kiln:

Rain started falling but tall trees protected us at first:

Unfortunately much of the track further up runs through a deforested area, and it turned out to be quite a heavy shower. Fortunately there was blue sky approaching from the west, and the sun came out just before reaching the summit. Dun na Cuaiche is topped with a stone folly and the views over Loch Fyne and Inveraray are, well, see for yourself:

Down by the same route, but this time in sunshine. Taking our time now, we couldn't resist sampling the hundreds of wild raspberries growing by the track, which we hadn't even noticed on the way up!
