Compleation Day had arrived for Moira and Adam from the Argyll Mountaineering Club and with the weather forecast not looking too hopeful one would have expected the numbers to drop off a bit, but no a fine tally of 34 hardy souls set off from the pretty full car park near the dam at the foot of Meall Buidhe at the back of 12.00.

The large group breaks off into three distinct groups with a large group heading further along the track to the official start about 1K West where there is a small cairn on the right, others head more directly up the SE shoulder of Meall Phubuill (which turns out the slowest option) and myself and Martin find a route in between the two (the quickest option)

Negotiating the boggy sections and there are a few

There were plenty of loose stones lying about the summit and it gave us something to do while waiting on some of the others. Keeping moving was the order of the day as soon as you stopped you felt the wind

Group photo at the summit. Not to hang about but to get off the hill ASAP for some liquid refreshments and a hot shower. This time the whole group followed the path down to the cairn by the track and returned to the cars. Shame the weather did not play ball but all enjoyed the hill experience and also the lovely meal laid on by Adam and Moira at the Crianlarich village hall which turned out to be a five star venue before retiring to the Ochils Climbing Cub hut for further refreshments and excellent vocal entertainment by Adam.
