It's been a month since I've been out for a walk, this is the longest walking gap I've had in the last 6 yrs. One weekend for the Ryder Cup (great decision that one!) and then two weekends of Man Flu so finally I'm out.

It's getting ever closer to the winter season which for me is Fri/Sat at Dunkeld so this was just a little reminder to the legs that they have some hard work to do over the winter/spring.

As usual I was first off the mark at dawn and my pace was decent at my usual check points resulting in me being at the bridge a mile north of Loch Ordie in 1hr 42 mins with an average moving pace of 3.8mph. It felt like hard work, I've definitely put on a few lbs over the summer that will need to come off before I do any long distance walks next year.

Stopped at the bridge for a couple of mins to get the MP3 out for the walk back to the car. As usual, a few mountain bikers around but with it being a Friday not that many people out walking.

Back at the car in a total time of 3hrs 19 mins for 13 miles with an average speed of 3.9mph. Definitely faster than I was expecting but it was pretty hard work to keep that pace going to the end.

Decent morning, reasonably mild, a few clouds around but no threat of rain.
