Walkhighlands

Spent a week on Loch Fyne (St Catherines) and took the opportunity to do this hill as it was just up the road.

It was a lovely day. Was on my own.

Was a bit cheeky in getting a lift so far up the glen since there are signs to dissuade you from doing so but, hey! And also getting picked up so far up. It would be a very long walk in and out if you didn't get a lift or didn't use bikes.

The ascent up the stream from Inverchorachan is amazing. There's a least one bit where you have to be pretty careful. It may not be high but I felt it was exposed. Take care!

Followed a path which took a more direct route to summit which meant coming BACK to the top. Decided to descend, not by the route that takes you down the grassy slope to Inverchorchan, but took advantage of a the huge track that's been bulldozed down the hillside. It wasn't marked on my map so it threw me a bit initially but it transpired to be part of a largish local hydro electric station. The track may be ugly to some but it does afford a great view into the bedrock. There's something quite primal about rock being broken and man using the lay of the land and gravity to make something from the land.
