Spent the day walking with Grace and Elaine. Set off from Rowantree. Just a small car park and some picnic benches. Toilets April to September.
Walk climbs steadily all the way up to Mither Tap. A nice steady climb through trees, past streams and up on to heather. Views unfold behind you. A lovely sunny day and so we were rewarded with amazing views. Gracde new to hill walking and so we took it steady.
From Mither Tap we walked towards Millstone Hill, this descends quite steeply all the way, we had our lunch at the foot of Millstone Hill in the sunshine. Took Gordons Path back up towards Oxen Craig, this is a steadier climb through trees and opens up to beautiful views with glimpses of the Don.
Almost up to Oxen Craig and then back over to Mither Tap to join our original path and go back down. 5 hours. Great day walking, a bit of everything.
