2 munros in 2 days !!! i`m making up for too much time at work.
Again its to be a nice morning , so me and Oskar are up and away at 730am - a late start for us
Arrive at the car park at Inverugulas and were off at 9am . The walk in is hot , it`s sunny , so sun cream is applied for the 1st time , follow the advised route here on the site , my 1st stop was at the bridge just before you take to the hill-for a wee drink of water. Moving on , the 1st sction is very wet and boggy - i didn`t enjoy this section alongside the wee burn at all , once passed and up the 1st hill part though it dried up. The route is well defined and as we climbed you could see a steady line of folk below all following up. The hill is quite tough , i found it hard going , stopping for a wee breather every now and then and to re apply more sun cream. As we got higher the views increased accordingly -fotos attatched.I`d climbed Ben Vorlich quite recently in mist and cloud but could now see it very clearly to my right - east.
Onwards and upwards wee bits of scrambling - Oskar managed no bother at all.Stopped often to admire the view and take fotos. After several false summits i thought i was "there" only to see the final climb to the real top. This disheartened me , so i had a wee drink of lucozade and a 10 min breather before the last push.On this theres some scrambling with an awkward bit so i had to help Oskar up this section. On this last section i`d been overtaken by 2 groups coming behind me but it wasn`t a race - the summit was VERY windy i circled the cairn and took a fab foto of Oskar then sat on the east side out of the wind to have a coffee.
It had taken exactly 3 hours to get up.
Oskar ate 5 mini pork pies
i had 1 as i wasn`t too hungry. After a 20 min break slight rain came on so jacket on and off downwards -10 mins later jacket off as the sun re appeared. I took lots of fotos on the hill - i enjoyed going down as it had been hard work coming up, met lots of folk coming up -the hill was busy. The same route down and out back to the car at 2.30pm
A grand day out - but quite hard work
