The weather forecast seemed to be the best of a bad lot for this weekend in August, would have been ideal if the cloud level was a bit higher. As it was the summit of Ben Vorlich was in the clouds. I was able to get parked just round from the gate leading to the track up to the hill, but otherwise the road was busy with camper vans and cars with people camping and fishing in Loch Earn.

I would recommend the scramble on the face to be honest, this side route is steep and loose gravel underfoot.

There's a bit of a new path forming that skirts round the side that removes a requirement to re-trace your steps over the top of Ben Vorlich back to the car. It was very swampy in places!
