Not a bad start to the day, but going by the forecast I was fully aware we were going to get a soaking at some point on this walk! Myself and my brother were also supposed to bag Carn na Caim on this walk as well but around half way up A'Bhuidheanach Bheag a fine misty rain came on, we decided to stop for a quick bite to eat and a coffee before it got any heavier.

Visibility was really poor so I was extremely glad about taking my new Satmap on its first outing! It became extremely boggy underfoot before the final ascent to the summit, the rain was still just holding off.

We reached the summit cairn and had another coffee, that was when the heavens opened  I had bought water resistant trousers, which had performed brilliantly up until this point, so I didn’t bother packing my water proof bottoms! 5minutes into the descent and the seams were starting to let the water through, we laughed for a wee while as the rain drove head on into us, 20minutes later the amusement had worn off and the rain was coming through my trousers so fast it was running down the inside and into my boots  I thought to myself well we cant get any wetter, so I would have been happy enough to carry on to Carn na Caim but on reaching the fork in the path my brother Darren was ready for home and I wasn’t in the mood to argue, so we left it for another day.
