Trusted the weatherman today, in that it wouldn't rain til late afternoon- and it stayed dry all day. Cheers
Someone posted the other day he saw beinn sgulaird on a top 10 of easy munros. Whoever it was must have been teleported up the initial slope:) as I found it hard going.
May have had something to do with the stiff breeze all the way up !!
Skirted round the summit of Meall garbh on the ascent up to sgulaird. There's a few wee minor cairns to keep you on the right path- helpful if the clag was all around.
Couple of bits of hands on, on the approach to the summit but nothing major.
Nice big cairn on top and the mist at this point covered just about every view. Bite to eat, coffee and back down.
Nice views out to the islands on the descent.
Went over meall garbh on the descent this time
When I reached the fence at the beallach it was over this and sharp left on a path down to the main track.
For path down please translate as a couple of bits of flattened grass here and there. Easy enough descent - only once on my erse :)

Not the best of views from the summit, but a good hike today
Cap doffed to Beinn Sgulaird
Cheers.

1240m of ascent doesn't sound that easy to me  What a shame you didn't get a view after all that effort. Useful report, always nice to an idea what to expect on any mountain.

I went up beinn fhionnlaidh the other week from elleric through glenure. Going from here with sgulaird on the right; it just looked a monster, so I opted for the WH route up.
It was just probably the wind that made it hard going up the initial slope
