So this is our 3rd and 4th Munro we've done this week, not bad going! 35th & 36th over all in the last 9 months. Taking advantage of the last of our time off before going back to work and univeristy on Monday :(

We had a quick look at the weather forecast and noticed it was nice pretty much everywhere so we picked Glencoe as our destination as we love the area but have somehow never gotten around to doing any walking there..

So we had a long drive down from Aberdeen on Wednesday night, passed out in the hotel room straight away and headed out nice and early the next morning. We arrived at the car park at around 8am as the sun was rising but our views were blocked by the towering hills. We were first in the car park and we only met 1 other couple on the hills the whole day, surprising! I guess everyone else was doing the more challenging mountains.

So we set off up the steep slope heading towards the bealach, its quite hard going but takes around 1 hour to reach.

Happy to be in my cosy new jacket!

Powering on up the slope

Views across to the scary Aonach Eagach ridge..

We reached the bealach and had a quick snack and headed up the shorter munro to the left, Stob Coire Raineach. It's quite a short but steep climb, care needs to be taken making sure you stick to the right path up. Unlike us just pushing on scrambling over everything.

Lots of photos of me huffing and puffing up the steep bit

Great views looking back towards Stob Dubh and surrounding hills

Happy to reach the top!

We descended the hill quickly and headed straight up towards Stob Dubh on the other side, the wind was picking up at this point but we were keen to get to the ridge to see if it was as scary as some say...

Image

It wasn't  Really nice walk and views though

It narrows very slightly towards the end before climbing up to the final peak.

Lewis looking majestic on the summit!

We had a nice slow walk back down to the car taking in the views before another long drive back up to Aberdeen. Most of the journey spent pointing out munros we still have to climb and getting excited about future adventures :)

"...Most of the journey spent pointing out munros we still have to climb and getting excited about future adventures..."

Yep, that's exactly what happens! The only totally addictive white powder I've experienced is very cold, up in the hills... :D

"pointing out munros we still have to climb "
I did exactly that yesterday from on top of sgor na h-ulaidh. You would have seen it from where you were.
Enjoy the hills and you'll get to the summits of all those pointed out.

Meant to say you'd have seen Ben Starav from where you were. That's the one I was "pointing out " :D
