Narnain and Ime

After turning back on this walk a couple of weeks ago, I decided to give it another go as it was bothering me that I had given up on it. I took Ruby this time instead of Daisy, she is a little calmer and I knew she would be good for my nerves! Last time I convinced myself I had gone the wrong way and had somehow found a much more difficult climb. The reality is that I had been on the right route all along but had just lost my confidence due to a combination of lack of experience, poor weather, no other people around to bolster my confidence. The weather today was great for walking (nice and cool with no wind) but unfortunately there was a lot of cloud cover so the pictures aren't too great. We set off from Succooth car park at 830am, reached the summit of narnain at 1045, then onto Beinn Ime which we topped at 1215pm. Finally made it back to the car at 240pm.

ps note to self, happy 41st

:D

There are worse ways to spend a birthday than with a canine companion in the hills.

Happy Birthday !

Happy Birthday!

We went up Beinn Ime just as you and Ruby are coming down, remember the dog and its red collar, very well behaved. :)

It was a perfect day weather wise. Not much of a view, but good enough. Hope you enjoyed it!

Great way to spend a birthday in my opinion. Hope you took a slice of cake along.
I think Ruby looks less than impressed in that last picture.

Thanks for all the congratulations etc - it was unexpected :) . It's great that I can now put some faces to some of the names in the forum! Both Ruby and I had a slice of cake last night too (I think that was what she was contemplating in the last picture.)

I am thinking about taking the "big dog" out next. He is a 38kg Bassett Hound called Zippy that we rescued last year. He has been half way up Ben Lomond before without any problem. Can anyone suggest an "easy" munro so he can bag one too?

I must have been just ahead of you all day. I saw you at some stage - must have been coming off Ime. I have taken my fox terrier up Ben Dorian but I'm glad she stayed at home on Saturday. She's not the smartest and there is plenty to think about going the direct route up Narnian from the car park.

This is great. Meeting new friends and dogs as well. Reminds me of last month when the guys I met had a cocker spaniel and a westie and went to the top of Meall Buidhe and they were both well behaved. Well done on going back and giving it another go.. :)
