From the edge of Knoydart.

A day out with our daughter who is based for a bit in the Quoich area.
The septuagenarians were struggling after still trying to shake off the winter chest problems. Since Marif was the only one of us who had not been to Gleouraich it seemed a reasonable plan to head up the very fine stalkers track on Druim Seileach to reach the higher ground.....however the gusts of strong winds were evident when looking up towards the summit area.

Probably one of the finest of the stalkers tracks?

It was a day for warm outers and warm hoods.

A really fine place to be apart from the strong Easterlies trying to push you off down the western flank of the hill.

A wee sheltered place for some hot tea after bailing out at around 800 metres and descending below the snowline. The rewards for our efforts were to be found in all directions.

Three weeks earlier Mel reached the Corbett Sgurr nan Eugault and then continued along the terrain to drop down to the bothy at Barrisdale for the night.

This old chap probably spends most of his time on the lower ground now.

I can't claim the image of the badger to come from my own wee image maker. Mel, being a zoologist as well as doing other outdoor work, does tend to spend quite a bit of time snooping about which I guess you have to do to get close to the wildlife and of course the Keepers in the area of Quoich are very much in tune with the nature so information can be readily gained from contact.
The only badgers that I have seen are those not quick enough to avoid the road traffic.

That stalkers path is definately one of the best I have encountered. Great pictures. I have only once met a (live) badger at very close range and that was in Inverness close to the centre.
