Beautiful sunny Friday in February. Just me and Jessie. Parked at Dufftown Golf club - loads of space. Walk along the road a short way. Fab display of snow drops up to Little Conval first - keep heading straight up, I strayed to the right hand path and this fizzled out so we had to hop the heather to the top. found this really hard work as i'd been suffering with a cold virus.
Tiny cairn at the top. Great views Ben Rhinnes, cairnforms, moray firth. Peregrin was up there lots of red grouse, a pair of black grouse.
Down Little conval the way you came up and then the path for Meikle conval is directly in front of you. Nice steady climb but boggy when we were there. Again lovely views from the top. Ben Rhinnes is next door. Took a right at the top, there is supposed to be a small path but I couldn't find it. Had to go through heather again until we met the wider path. nice sunny walk down. had to walk about a mile back along the road to the golf club which was a bit of a pain but not too bad. Great day out - loved it.
