First one of 2017.

Wanted something that wouldnt be too difficult and get back in time for Scotland v England in the 6 nations (we lost so nevermind).

Early 6am start as per usual and took 1.5 hours to get there. Was quite drizzly at arrival and for the first hour or so but nothing to concern ourselves with.

Started off crossing the road as per instruction then about an hours walk up a road to the base of the hill. The dam a little further up wasn't really visible due to fog/low cloud.

Looking up at what we were about to climb I thought was going to a bit tough for the first day back. T be honest it wasn't bad at all, boggy, but not bad.

3 hours up to the top. 0 view due to fog but this was forecast so can't complain.

2.5 hours to get back to the car. At least on the decent we got a good look of the dam as the fog had lifted. The hour long walk back to the car pretty much sucked, feet were wet due to the bog/snow we hit going up the hill. I lost count of how many times we slipped coming down the hill!!

Good to get back to it and looking forward to many more walks this year!!
