The chance of clear skies at Glencoe with no wind meant an early rise to try and capture some star trails or milky way shots. I had a full weekend of photography planned and it was all kicking off at 02:30am on Sat 11th Feb.

After a few hours drive from outside Glasgow I headed for Beinn A'Chrulaiste in Glencoe, hopeful of some astrophotography. Yet again the weather forecast was wrong! Was very cloudy and only a few stars visable through gaps in the thick cloud.

Option 2 - time lapse photography. There was a slight breeze which must have been stronger higher up as the clouds were moving very fast. Ideal for time lapse photograph.

Spent as long as I possibly could without my fingers falling off. Was about -5. I ate a pot noodle and had coffee to try and keep my core temperature up it but didn't seem to make any difference. I had my hands out of my gloves trying to operate a camera!

Here's a few shots from the trip.

The second part of the trip was supposed to be filmed on Sun 12th but due to my lack of researching the Devils Pulpit location properly I wasted half an hour running about the wrong side of the gorge trying to get down to the pulpit lol The full time my wife waited patiently in the car. I had to postpone the trip to the following weekend.

The Devils Pulpit at Glen Finnich is a very unique place, only half an hour from Glasgow City centre and you would think you have been teleported to the Amazon Rainforest. A truly spectacular place to explore!!

Here's some images from the Devils pulpit, taken on Feb 19th 2017.
