Told myself from the off that I was only going to do gael charn and creag pitridh today.
After wading knee deep through snow yesterday and turning back on the route to meall na teanga, I didn't want to overdo it today.
Car parked, over the bridge and up the good track of the reservoir and then onto the sandy beach and lochan.
Met another old boy who was going up the nearby graham and corbett. Only person I saw all day.
Once over the bridge by the lochan it was up track/ path all the way to where you ford the stream.
Have I mentioned how good Beinn a chlachair looked all the way up. It was to look good all day- but I'd made my mind up to omit it.
Up to the beallach it was then and Geal Charn 1st.
Couple of false summits- don't you just love them, and then the cairn came into view. It looked huge so the pace over the snow was upped a bit and it was reached and stood on.
There was the cylindrical trig point hiding.
Great views all round from here and the cairn gave protection from the wind which had picked up a bit.
Creag pitridh looked tiny from here and not very far but the 10 yards climbing on a slab at the bottom caused me the most bother all day.
Gloves on axe out
Up I went, down i came!
Round to the left a wee bit and then an easy ascent to the smaller cairn.
Easy enough descent- but those peat hags are going to get wetter in the coming weeks.
Over the stream and down the path and track again.
Good day today and a nice area.

Cap doffed to Geal-Charn Charn and Creag Pitridh
Cheers
