Sometimes you get lucky anyway, our time at Camasunary was a bad weather alternative due to strong winds and poor snow conditions, and, between the showers, the weather was wonderful. I still can't believe that the first time I went to Skye, '91 I think, we had 10 days of great weather and climbed all over the Cuillin.

litljortindan wrote:"Best view in Britain" is a can of worms but it would certainly be in my top ten. Great pictures and, for me, great memories brought back by seeing Camasunary again. Thanks!
Been up Sgurr na Stri a few times but it was the first trip that stands out -probably because of the evening light; makes a big difference.
cbas104 wrote:Cracking JP - some great photos....I can think of a few stunning view points in Scotland, but this is definitely right up there!! Oh, and btw porridge pots are never a necessary evil in my book - there are many more palatable things to eat on a hill!

CJM Skye wrote:Brilliant report and photo's. Been lucky enough to camp there twice in superb weather. Personally I don't think there is a better view. I would encourage anyone thinking about camping there to go for it , just make sure the weather is on your side.

Haven't we all?
Absolutely amazing stuff JP, just magical Laughed out loud about you falling on your backside right at the end...do that all the time
I think you've just decided where my Easter holidays will be spent!

Thanks Jackie
My slip was hilarious tbf. One of those where the standing leg gives out and you slide down muddy grass, on your a*** in slow-motion, whilst swearing in slow-motion. Thankfully no one else around to laugh at it
Hope you get weather as good as I did. It'll be awesome
Jaxter wrote:Thanks - here's hoping
Ha it's always hilarious isn't it. I sank into a snow drift up to my waist on Sunday. Couldn't stop laughing
Alteknacker wrote:"Views to die for!" - what more can be said? Phenomenal Real mountain porn!!
This has been my absolute Nr 1 favourite viewpoint since I went up it in the early 90s.

But no matter what camera you have, or lens or whatever, you can't capture it. You just have to walk up there to appreciate it.
rockhopper wrote:oooft magic - still on the to do list but it'll be hard to get conditions anywhere near as good as this - great set of photos to do it justice too - cheers
