En route to the WH/TH meet at Kinlochleven, I needed a little something to get me mojo going again. Too long away from hills, and a rogered ill-tibial band in recovery (ironically, as done running trying to get fit for the hills - should know better at my age). I'd thought about the Pap (don't we all?), but decided on Beinn a'Chrulaiste as it seemed a tad gentler, and with good weather forecast for the afternoon, it seemed an ideal bit of pre-meet fluffing after the 6 hour drive from t'Kingdom of Yorkshire. :D :D
We all drive past this hill many, many times as we dip down into Glencoe. Not the most spectacular of walks but one of the very best view points from the top and most parts on the ascent.

I parked at Altnafeidh about 3:30pm, went up the standard route, very muddy and slide in places, but delightful once on the wide open summit slopes. Went over several time on the mud on the way down, and spent about an hour faffing with new camera on the summit and on the small Brian top that you go over on the way up.
Wee Bookle from the Brian:

Big Bookle from same viewpoint:

Big fella again:

Looking back down the summit slopes with the splendour of Glencoe laid out for all to see (well, me).

North from the summit to more hills, maybe the next day's excursion
Image

Black Mount hills and Big Bookle from the summit. A stunning viewpoint.

On the way down I saw a keen young fella on the way up for a summit camp, he very kindly claimed not to have seen me slip onto my a**e on the muddy descent.

Nothing else to report, except that despite the great weather it still managed to rain on me as I drove down Glencoe afterwards. Rain and simultaneous bright sunshine, gotta love it, gotta love Scotland. :D :D

Lovely report and pix - glad you had such a good day for it. It's such a great viewpoint for all those surrounding hills. I'm hoping to do it again with some visitors from the south of England in summer as they're keen photographers.

Thanks! It's a Fuji X-T2, one of the new compact mirror less systems. I traded in Canon for it as it's half the size and weight, and to my untutored eye the photos seem just as good. I'll be able take it on more hills than I could with the Canon.

And thanks to everyone else for the kind comments.
