Garbh Bheinn (Loch Leven) a hazy recollection

Still a bit hazy from the night before and not feeling as bright and breezy as the norm I decided to clear the head and climb the nearby Corbett from the Kinlochleven Bunkhouse Garbh Bheinn, Hugh had very kindly offered to drive me to the start so after saying a few quick good bys and realising I was about to leave all my food on the table I hopped into Hugh's awaiting car a sped off to follow the others to the start of the walk not far from the bunkhouse.

Looking back at the car parking area just beyond the bridge over the burn on the North side of the road, sufficient room for three cars
2.JPG
Looking up to what awaits us, a fairly good path at this point with cairns marking the route
3.JPG
Looking back over Loch Leven
5.JPG
Some topic of discussion being discussed, cannot be about route finding as there is a good path most of the way
6.JPG
The full squad further up the climb

Another wee stop, probably waiting for the old guy
9.JPG
I don't know what this plant is called found on the pathway
10.JPG
A slight drop down at this point but on the whole the path is a fairly consistent climb and pretty dry underfoot

Come on The Rodmiester is the head no feeling too well, just no sympathy at all
13.JPG
Still suffering but all self inflicted

By pass the crags on the right

What's this a wee dance in front of The Pap of Glencoe
18.JPG
Yes we are waiting for you!

Looking back we had skirted around on the left of picture

Happy group at the summit

Complete group at the summit cairn we had met up with Jaxter and Ross

Another group photo at summit
24.JPG
The whole group having there lunch break at the summit, the last time I was here I never saw a thing
28.JPG
Heading back down, the head feeling much better now

Starting down the steeper section

Starting down the steeper section

What's going on here then?

Nearly at the cars now, another steep section so concentration a must. Another fine day on the hill with the weather a whole lot better than forecast with great company. Now to head off for a coffee and a cake.

Yes, you were sounding a bit slurred by 3am the previous night though...mind you, I was impressed with your dish drying skills at that point. Usually when I'm in that state I drop most of them - don't think I saw a single break  8)

It is credit to you as a photographer that you make your human subjects look to relaxed and natural. Looks like a fantastic day on a fine hill.

Not sure but I think the red plants may be a type of lichen. I will do some research!

Your photograph is of a Cladonia species of lichen but I state which species. I sometimes post images at the Natural History Museum site.
