We were to be staying at Strawberry Cottage in Glen Affric and we had decided to include this Corbett on the first day of travel before heading off towards Glen Affric. Weather was looking good and we had already stopped off for a good breakfast at the Green Welly at Tyndrum. It was all go to Cannich and towards the starting point on the road to the Mullardoch dam just after the road crosses the river Cannich. We had arranged to meet Pat but were late because of some wind turbine sections being transported through Drumnadrochit.

Roadside parking for two or three cars with other available spaces on the other side of the bridge where we saw that Pat had parked his van
2.JPG
Heading on up from the roadside with no path to follow at this point
3.JPG
Mostly dry underfoot, we had told Pat just too set off and we would catch him up somewhere on the inward journey
4.JPG
A zoomed in shot of the man in green, yes it's Pat not that far in front
5.JPG
He has seen us so decides on a breather on a large stone to wait for us
6.JPG
Looking West towards Loch Mullardoch
7.JPG
Time for a catch up natter
8.JPG
Although no path existed the underfoot conditions were mainly dry and made for quite easy walking
9.JPG
Stop for another wee blether
10.JPG
And yes this Corbett has a sting in the tail a chance for a wee bit of scrambling maybe
11.JPG
Pat with a fair bit of rock in the background
12.JPG
On the second last climb now with the final climb just around the corner
13.JPG
With the final climb in sight your faced with a decision do you go right or left, I decided left as there appeared to be a good path heading that way, Mountain thyme went right as she and only she would, this photo shows the right top from the left top, which by now I dad realised was not the actual summit as it was all grassy and no sign of a cairn of any description
14a.JPG
The Winner, Mountain Thyme chose right and she was right, awe no, I will never be allowed to forget it
15.JPG
Well you can just guess who had the biggest smile at this summit
16.JPG
On the way back a photograph of Loch Mullardoch
17.JPG
The two tops in question from where we were standing it's very difficult to know which is the higher, but you guys who read this will know now, GO RIGHT
18.JPG
After getting back to the cars and having decided to go to the one and only pub in Cannich for our tea we headed to the Glen Affic car park only to find that the gate had been padlocked and we did not have a key. After a few chosen words and a quick re think on how we were to get all our gear to Strawberry Cottage some five miles away. A car appeared at the bridge having passed through the gate and David ran down to explain the situation to the driver, but the driver who lives along the track was having nothoing of it even though David explained that we had permission to take the two cars down to Strawberry Cottage, unhelpful person of the first degree. So there was nothing else for it but to load up our gear and walk in. Still all smiling and heading for the now locked gate.
20.JPG
Well we all set about lightening the load
21.JPG
And a few more tipples were had along the way
22.JPG
A long trudge to Strawberry Cottage
23.JPG
That bottle of malt going down nicely, that's when it's good to share, it helps to lighten your load. No hard feelings after the summit mix up, just added to the occasion really and was much talked about during the weekend

I'd have to say this is one of the finest summits I've sat on, with the view down into Strathfarrar 8)
