While the rest of Scotland lay under a blanket of thick cloud the eastern most Cairgorms looked promising, turned out a great day and so glad to be back in the hills and have them all to myself. A couple of cyclists passed me early on in the day but as I was intending the route less travelled for this hill I saw not another soul all day until my return to the car park...perfect.
My intended return had been to go over the Top of the Battery but from the summit that route looked like peat hag hell
so carried on along the ridge to Gael Charn then headed north to pick up the track that runs alongside the Allt Cristie Beag and back to Inverey. Have since been informed by Ally that the peat hags look worse than they are...hmmm!
