Too windy to carry on!!

The lad came out with me today, so I thought- show him a bit of Scotland and climb a couple of hills.
Glenfinnan bound it was then and the wee walk to the 2 Sgurrs!!
Under the Viaduct and a good track along to the Bothy. On to the wee sign at the side of the hill saying Sgurr Thuilm. Looked a very boggy start so went on past a couple of hundred metres and started the climb up the hillside. Then wind and rain came - as expected!
Picked up the path a bit higher up and looked back once or twice to some good views over Loch Shiel. From that point nothing was seen and the wind got stronger the higher we went.

Fence line was reached and saw the cairn indicating the route along to Sgurr nan Coireachan.
On up to the summit where we sat for a minute.

The lad did well today- only his third outing. ( and not a summit view yet )

I decided at this point - as we both could hardly stand up straight in the wind; that going back was the safer option.
Come down a little further left of the gully ( and a steeper descent!) and that brought us down to the stream and one or two ford's of it on the way back.
Bumped into a Polish couple who kipped in the bothy the night before.
Stopped in the bothy on the return for 5 minutes to get out the wind and rain and have a breather.
Nice wee bothy. All mod cons and creature comforts.
Then it was a pleasant couple of miles back to the Viaduct the monument and tourists.

Good day - maybe we shouldn't have gone up in that wind but hey, getting a day together not to mention out on the hills - are few and far between.
Said to myself " I'll take a bike to the bothy next time I go back for Sgurr Nan Coireachan"
Now today thinking about it- it wasn't that far and the walks ok.
