The weather looked promising during the drive up to Pitlochry yet as soon as i reached the car park north of the Moulin Hotel it started raining and the mist began forming on the hills, typical !
Almost all of the photos in my report were taken on the way back from the hill as the weather improved rapidly during my lunch break on the summit.
Walking from the car park up through the woods gave quite a bit of shelter and once i reached the open moorland the rain had all but given up though the hill fog remained.

Once passed Loch a' Choire the path becomes much steeper and consists mostly of stone steps which do serve a purpose on popular hills like Vrackie but i still find them very annoying especially on descents.
The height was quickly gained here and i soon had the summit to myself, for 5 minutes anyway. With the mist lifting the views improved but nowhere near like they could be on a fine day.

Although i expected Ben Vrackie to be a bit more involving i wasn't disappointed as its a pleasant enough walk despite all those steps !
