I was staying in Glenfinnan with friends and we all hoped to get out in the hills on this Saturday. However, the weather gods were being particularly unkind with gale force winds and heavy rain. I decided to wait a while and then drive inland to Glen Roy to try to find some more shelter and some bearable weather but this didn't really help much. I drove up Glen Roy and parked at Achavady to start up the track there. Higher up, I turned off the track on to the rough ground to climb the slopes of Leanna Mhor.

Not much to describe except to say that it was a constant battle against the gale and the periodic battering by the squalls that rushed through.

Not a pleasant day by any means and no view at all from the summit. I did, though, manage to take some pics lower down when the rain had stopped for a while and surprisingly it looked like a nice day but appearances can be deceptive! It was great to get back to the house for a hot shower and bowl of soup.
