First walk report in a LONG time so be gentle! I have fancied doing this one for ages now so decided to do it today. Nice and quiet at the parking today so was able to get off the road no problem at the start of the track.

I have been here before for a geocache so it was all very familiar for me and I was soon branching off the main track and after going through and over two gates in quick succession I had reached the firebreak which marked the point where you leave the main path. Unfortunately I managed to get myself a little lost and wasn't sure which firebreak was the one I needed but got there in the end ok after pushing through some trees and eventually emerging on the proper firebreak. (which felt like a motorway in comparison to where I came from! ) Zoom in on my GPX route near the quarry marked on the OS map if you fancy a laugh.

Never been so happy to see a firebreak!

I followed the firebreak for a bit until the end where it joined another heading left and up the hill. I decided to mark the turn with two sticks in an 'X' as I didn't want to struggle finding my way back again! From there it was just following the firebreak until the end of the tree line and then out onto the open hillside and up the heather before wandering along to the top. Really nice views from here in all directions and well worth the trip to get here as it's slightly more pathless than I am used to!

Afterwards I headed over to Creag Nan Clag which shall be the subject of my next walk report. :D
