Kept an eye on the weather throughout the wk to see which direction to go for my first solo munro.
The far north was the best looking option weather wise and after reading a lot of previous reports about Hope and Kilbreck the decision was made.
A good drive north, already a few cars in the carpark when I arrived. Glorious sunny morning got started about half past nine.
Bit of a boggy to start,the steeper slopes were quite tiring. Passed an older guy on the way up the stonier climb who later caught up with me after a pit stop. I walked to the summit with him and chatted away, he was a 78 year old on his 141st munro. Finally saw the trig point and then no sooner it had disappeared in the cloud. Sat at the top and ate the sandwiches hoping to get some photos but it wasn't happening so heading back for the car. Followed the same path down passed a lot of other walkers heading up. Got the dog into the burn at the bottom and got her cleaned up.
Back in the van at one o'clock very good walk a bit disappointed not to get a decent photo but maybe go back another day.
