Posties Path - Culnacraig to Ardmair (Ullapool)

I've noticed there isn't much in the way of photos for this short trail so I've dragged some out of the depths to show it off.
I walked it in 2015 during a holiday in Coigach after hearing about it for years. As I started the weather was perfect but unfortunately, as it does in the Highlands, it went downhill to what I can only call heavy drizzle.
I'd heard the route could be a bit hairy in places....this is true, especially in the wet. You are quite often following a very narrow 'path' with a sheer drop to the sea and rocks below.
That said, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I remember getting to the end of a particularly slippy, scary section when I came across a group of young teenagers with 2 adults coming the other way. It turned out they were doing their D of E. I stopped the instructors and advised them to turn around or find another way. I certainly wouldn't have wanted to be in charge of teens going along that path! Anyway, we all carried on our ways. I eventually got to where I was looking down on Ardmair and turned around to head back. I didn't see any sign of them on the return.....so hopefully they made it through ok or headed up n over.

Once back almost to Culnacraig I set up camp in a dryish sheltered spot. I walked back to Polbain, where I was staying for the week, the next morning.

Anyway, in summary, if you are a experienced mountain walker used to sheer drops and precarious paths, walk this path. Its well worth it for the views out over the islands.
I wouldn't advise anyone with young children attempting it.

I was going to say, where are the scary bits!!

Attempted this many years ago when my youngest was very small and turned back before anything serious. Always planned to revisit it

Interesting to see these photos, and quite a surprise to see all those waymarkers!
