Warning Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly. Summer routes may not be viable or appropriate in winter. See winter information on our skills and safety pages for more information.

Parked in the church car park. Walked west along the road then anti-clockwise. Slight detour to get to a bridge to cross the Findhuglen Water on the way back - needn't have bothered as there were more bridges further north.
Visited the church on the way back to the car. Had bought my first ever pair of lighter weight non full leather boots for summer use recently and was trying them out for the first time - lot of wet, boggy terrain and peat hags but no signs of leakage at all so goretex lining was working well (fingers crossed) - the outsides did take a lot longer to dry off than the full leather boots normally take though. Seem to be better for my feet - my metatarsalgia didn't appear (although maybe due to it being a shorter walk).
