What should have ben a simple Graham became more troublesome on the descent due to a bad choice of route. It was a showery day with clouds below summit level, but not as wet as I had feared. Surprisingly all the usual car parks for walkers en route were empty. Was nobody climbing Ben More, Stobinian and the other Glen Dochart peaks? Jaywizz wondered if walking was becoming less popular. Perhaps a poor weather report is now sufficient to clear the hills?

We followed m3doc's route on the way up into the clouds.

Yes that groove in the grass running from bottom middle to the left is the path

About half-way up and by now the path had disappeared
Views from the summit were limited in extent and duration but improved as we descended.

An incomplete removal of the serial still shown on the map. Beware of protruding studs!

Thinking to find a gentler route we headed for the col to the northeast then towards the forest where I imagined a path might be found beside the fence. It was not to be - neither the path nor the fence. Just a series of posts where one had been. Lower down the fence was more complete but still no real path just long grass disguising holes and burns. The latter could be heard but not seen until right on top of - or in - them! We persevered down beside the forest with a final short descent through it and over the stream at the bottom to land right beside the car.

Down through the forest - only 50m to go!
