An excellent and gripping report. Like the "preparation" - ie the long overnight drive and caffeine fuel

Great report, and good effort for getting right back on it after not succeeding the first time. I think that if you have the route-finding ability, then just going for it without too much forward planning is the way.

I had the traverse in my sights a couple of times in the past with a friend - both times we spent a week on Skye familiarising ourselves with the bits of the ridge we didn't know so well. Both times we were knackered after about 4 days on the ridge and the weather crapped out, so we didn't even get as far as attempting the full traverse!

Brilliant! Thats what I call a long day fueled by caffeine  Not sure if I could have done the ridge in one go...but there is always something to work up to

Massive respect, guys. I've not done much in the Cuillin yet but enough of it to be fully aware of the challenge you set yourselves...twice!

Only thing is, what can you follow that with?

Thank you all so much for your amazing comments! I had a lot of fun doing the ridge, and writing it up, and it's really nice to read what everyone thought.

It really spurred me on to finally get around to finishing my edit of the ridge video:
