After reading reports of parking difficulties, we were up and away promptly to secure a suitable spot. No other cars at all so we parked at the long layby just beyond the gate to Moorbrock Estate. Good track almost all the way to the summit, with a delightful lunch break in a raised shooting but ('Olf').

This was our last walk on a short break in Galloway (around 46 kms and 2145m ascent) - the legs had been muttering the day before, on the walk back to car, they were now screaming!!! Many thanks to McMole for driving, company and encouragement.
