Not long since my last trip around this route - documented at https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=68912.

Oh well there are some slightly different photos here.

We set off from Glenridding in glorious sunshine.

Along the mine road were various nice interesting red things.

Oops not that one

The lead mine road is much more attractive than its name suggests

This view is on the other report I know. The little bridge is good spot on which to steady the camera.

We walked up alongside the stream.

The top of Birkhouse Moor from the "Hole in the Wall". One of those fells with a summit that's less impressive than it looks from below.

Looking back from just beyond the "Hole" towards the Far Eastern Fells.

And our party, looking forward toward Striding Edge.

Dollywagon and Nethermost Pikes.

On the Edge...

Clambering along the crest.

The ridge to the north

At this point our party separated, some descending by the Pny Path, while we went down Swirral Edge.

The loose stones near the top of the Edge are soon replaced by firm rocks.

Looking over the top of Striding Edge to Saint Sunday Crag.

Afternoon sun on the ridge to Catstycam.

And back along Swirral Edge.

The broken dam in Keppel Cove.

From the top of Catsytcam - where for some reason we were hit, for the first time in the day, by strong winds - this is the fading afternoon light on the higher Far Eastern Fells - from left to right, Rampsgill Head, High Street above Gray Crag, Thornthwaite Crag and Caudale Moor.

Always good to see new pics of this classic round on a clear day - some nice ones there. Since about 1986 I've made a point of doing the Striding-Swirral circuit (or in reverse) at least once every winter. I never tire of it. :)

Thanks Tim - you have done such a good job that I don't think I will bother doing a duplicate report on this one.
