BlackPanther wrote:Some beautiful photos, but no wonder. If you go to Assynt, you're bound to get spectacular views! I hope you got "hooked" on the far north. If I can suggest anything for your next visit - Suilven, Arkle and Foinaven. Each one is a true gem :D Maybe a bit longer walks so best kept for summer time, but so worth the effort.

Glad you discovered Beinn a'Chearcaill. Such a lovely hill with spectacular views and the flat summit plateau is just weird... We were almost blown away from the summit on a windy winter day, then Kevin drowned in waist deep snow on the way down  . Must go back and enjoy it in slightly less hampering conditions

The Coulin Coos are getting a lot of publicity on Walkhighlands, I photographed them a few weeks ago when we walked the circuit. They looked just as bored

It's a lovely low-level walk. I'd quite like to do it on a nice day in winter with the tops in snow. Those cows haven't moved much.

Amazing photos JP, Quinag is superb, the rock scenery on its hidden side especially so. But Assynt, well it speaks for itself, my favourite area, and devoid, near enough, of Munros, but the lack of height is more than made up for in sheer spectacular form :D

Thanks Dave. It's only the second time I've been beyond Ullapool, which is a bit ridiculous, but Anne and I completely fell in love with the place. Both Quinag and Coigach/Fhidhleir are both easily in my top 10, maybe top 5 mountain days since I started. You could quite easily spend an entire day on either of those walks. Already started planning next year's trip(s)
