Another misty, wet start with a slow slog up to Cairn Gorm. A top we didn't really get to appreciate until half way around the circuit.

A simple decent took us out of the mist and Maell Garbh was soon reached, following the old Victorian steel fence line. This stuff seems to be everywhere, the Lakes and also further North in Scotland. makes for an eerie feeling in the mist.

Ironwork cairn...seriously who picks this stuff up and builds a cairn?

Then the mist lifted:

The main crag on the summit, which is far more interesting than the cairn, seems to be made of a coarse quartz grit stone like nothing I've seen in the area before.
There then follows a steep fun, well marked decent and a slightly more boring ascent to Creag Mhor, where great view were once again unavailable.

The decent was fairly uninspiring, however once the mist cleared the route we had taken looked pretty cool.
