Wasn't keen on heading out this late in October, only 1 year ago at the beginning of October I was at Schiehallion with my workmates and it was covered in snow and blizzard conditons. I was expecting much the same but we wanted to get 50 done to end the year.

Luckily it has been rather mild so not a spot of snow to be seen. The weather was drizzly, windy and sometimes a good bit of rain but I have definately walked in worse!

It was a long walk to get to Carn Dearg - Number 1 of the day. A long long walk in across alot of boggy ground made it for quite hard walking... not as hard as going up the hill with boggy conditions. Anyway after 3 hours we were at the top of number 1 of the day, 48 in total.

It was the on to number 2 of the day. It was a long long (long x 10!) walk. Due to the fog/low cloud there wasnt any views at all which made this a very boring part of the day.

Eventually we made it to the summit of number 2 (after passing LOADS of boggy ground!!!) A quick photo as sleet was coming through then moving on for Munro 50!!

This was when the weather turned a bit, windy and rain and to top it off we cam off the track so took a little bit of back and forth to get back on track. Eventually we crossed a river and were on the ascent to the biggy.

We got up to the top and was well chuffed to get the milestone of 50. The poor weather took away the moment so we get moving to get back o the car.

So after a long day and pish weather we are walking down the hill and what happens...? THE SUN COMES OUT!!! But hey, you can't win them all. We found a wee corrogated hut on the way down where we wrote our names in the book. The nicer weather made for nice views and made the day turn out not too bad after all.
