What a day - Derry Cairngorm
Posted: Tue Oct 12, 2010 12:24 am
The day started off with cycling to Derry Lodge on a cold misty morning. Our (Jelly and me) hands have never been so cold. Left bikes at Derry Lodge, which saved a long walk in, and hiked towards Derry Cairngorm.
The weather was not looking promising, thick mist from the start. To be honest the forecast was one to stay in your bed, and many said not to venture out on the hills. As usual we go whatever the weather because we're keen to be out on the hills.
The weather was impressive.
The photos speak for themselves.
Perfect cloud inversion with blue skies and crystal clear vistas
At top of Derry Cairngorm at 11:15am whilst mates still in bed recovering from last nights beers - you only get one life!
All of these pictures were taken with my old canon 4 meg Ixus with no adjustments - works no problems at minus 10.
On way the down back into the mist. Rescue helicoptor flying around and practising landing on the summits.
Just one more!
If under 2500 feet - no views at all - I feel so lucky.
Great day out.
