Steep ascent to first top

Didn't have crampons which made it more difficult than it should have been

Great views from the top of Stob a Choire Mheadhoin towards the Mamores

Even better views to our second Munro Eassian, however, being bitterly cold ( approx minus 15 ), the snow was frozen and we all decided ( except Jelly ) that we will not climb Eassian as none of us had crampons.
We even couldn't make our descent down the bealach without crampons.

I climbed that about 13 years ago in May and I had the complete opposite from you in terms of weather. The view on a clear day is tremendous.

On a clear day the views from Stob A Choire Mheadhoin are fantastic

That steep nose-thing on Mheadhoin you show yourselves going up steeply (ice axe in hand) I avoided altogether as it looked nasty (and I didn't have snow) - I went along to the right of the mountain under it and only ascended after I'd passed it. Really simple route. Shame about Easain though...

The very steep slope wasn't really as bad as it looked. The whole extent of the slope is in the photo. There was a bad bit further up, that even our route finder, (Jelly), struggled to find an easy route for us. I think you are correct, we went to the right to find an easier path under the large crag.
Great day, even though Eassian was not compleated.

You're probably best to do it on a frozen day though as the bogs on the approach are horrendous!
