Excellent walk, although a bit arduous in places. During the first climb up to the Ptarmigian restaurant, I followed a simpler route up the valley, from then on I followed the route description. Cairngorms was beautifully covered in ice crystals, visibility under 20 meters, certainly made the walk mysterious (and challenging). The section between Cairngorms and Ben Macdui was uneventful, apart from the breathtaking views. Ben Macdui itself easily accessible, with limited visibility and very strong winds.
The descent, following a ridge line, was quite heavy for my old knees, although it was very easy as a walk.
