Some years ago I went up Sgurr Dearg via east ridge of Sgurr Bhan (marked only as point 947m on the OS map I think). A nice easy scramble. Descended via Sgurr Dearg's north ridge as per your ascent route, it really is a superb ridge with stunning views!
But the forestry jungle at the bottom...
