Not been out for a while and my original plan was to head up to Drumochter but the forecast was pants up north so I opted to head south.
I came up with a plan that would involve tackling these two first move the car back towards West Linton and park at the Big Red Barn and tackle Broomy Law & Black Mount, however on the final push to Trahenna the weather certainly changed for the worst. Sleet initially which was blasting me horizontally which then turned to snow and the visibility was about 50m.
Left Fife fairly early with the drawback of battling all the workers trying to get to their work with a bit of stop start - which is sadly what I expected. Parked up and set off just after 9am with a nice crisp frost. The track is quite good albeit with the occasional squidgy bit. The good news is that as height is gained the ground becomes much firmer. The only part of the walk that doesn't have a decent path is the ascent up through the heather towards the broad ridge of Hammer Head where there is a large cairn.
It was shortly after Hammer Head that the weather changed.

A very enjoyable morning which could have been an even better day, but I will return and visit the other two soon.
