Todays target was Ben Vorlich with snow forecast throughout the day. Having had quite a dump in the past week I was expecting conditions to be tough, with slow progress and was i was not expecting to get too far. I was right.. it was tough in places.

Thankfully the snow during the day was intermittent, and allowed me to make slow but steady progress. Upon reaching the ridge I had to bypass some rocky outcrops, and pass them to the lee of the wind which led to some deep deep snow and very very slow progress. Unfortunately my snow shoes were out of action, the straps broke - probably due to the recent warm years where they have not been used so much.

On the way down the weather improved and it became rather atmospheric!

An awesome day, several hours longer than expected due to the snow, but a hard earned munro. Munro #144
