Day was chilly but clear with little wind. Was excited to get my first munro uder my belt. Left at 10am - slightly later than hoped. Munro was covered in sheet ice, with 1-2ft of snow starting around 200ft from the top.

A number of people had the same idea, and was suprised to see the loads of bodys infront of me heading for the top given under foot conditions. i opted not to wear crampons or spikes which l immediately regretted. Sheet ice was causing me problems and extended my day by about 2-3hrs.

Lovely views the majority of way up. Fairly non technical, except for the last stretch, deep snow across the ridge and winds picked up, along with alot of people try to use the same padded 1ft path.

Got to to summit, with amazing clear views. And decided to continue down ptarmigan ridge to return home. Far more technical climb, from initial scrambling to sharp descent the full route. Also only passed 6 people taken that route down and 2 taken it up. Overall amazing and day, but was happy to get back to the car. Legs were finished from the ice and knees feeling the descent.

Onward to the next..
